‘Ted 2’ star Amanda Seyfried has spoken out against the inequality she has experienced when it comes to Hollywood’s gender pay gap.

The actress recently opened up about being paid only ten percent of what her former male co-star was offered in a past movie.

“A few years ago, on one of my big-budget films, I found I was being paid 10% of what my male co-star was getting, and we were pretty even in status,” Seyfried told the Sunday Times.

“I think people think that just because I’m easy-going and game to do things I’ll just take as little as they offer,” the 29-year-old actress explained. “It’s not about how much you get, it’s about how fair it is.”

In addition, the former ‘Mean Girls’ star shared a piece of advice for fellow actresses, which is to make the decision “if you’re willing to walk away from something.”

Sharing the same sentiments, Jennifer Lawrence recently triumphed over the gender pay gap battle with reports that the 24-year-old actress will earn twice as much as her fellow male lead, Chris Pratt, for their upcoming flick ‘Passengers.’

For their new movie that has been deemed as a “big-budget romantic sci-fi drama,” Pratt will reportedly get paid between $10 million and $12 million for his part in the film while Lawrence will receive $20 million.

Charlize Theron similarly opened up about the concept of feminism and how equal pay in Hollywood can make a significant difference.

In an interview with Elle UK, the ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ actress revealed that she was able to negotiate an equal pay for ‘The Huntsman’ after the leaked Sony emails, which showed the extensive disparity between the salaries of male and female actors from ‘American Hustle.’

Theron admitted that she and the studio were able to settle on a $10 million increase to make her pay equal to that of co-star Chris Hemsworth for the ‘Snow White’ prequel.

“I have to give them credit, because once I asked, they said yes,” she shared. “They did not fight it. And maybe that’s the message: that we just need to put our foot down.”

The 39-year-old actress, who bagged an Oscar award for her performance in ‘Monster,’ had drawn out her increased pay negotiations from the ‘American Hustle’ emails. These messages reportedly revealed that Lawrence and co-star Amy Adams were both paid with a smaller percentage of profits compared to their male co-stars.

“When I thought about the temperature out there – with finding out what Jennifer and Amy were being paid on a set with guy actors who are their counterparts…,” the actress shared. “They’re just as good as any of the guys on there. Yeah, that pissed me off!”
