Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor is already shaping up to be one formidable villain, and all of the latest information gleaned about Superman's most cunning opponent is enough to spark fear among the hearts of mortals in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

Cinema Blend did some digging around for more information about Luthor, and it came out with five. The first information is that Luthor has strong ties with the government. In the trailer, it was seen that Luthor, Holly Hunter's character, and an unnamed senator are all having a meeting in Luthor's mansion, and he might be influencing the government to side against Superman given his statement "devils come from below us."

The next is that Luthor has some sort of leverage against Superman, given the scene where he stands smugly over the superhero, who was sporting a huge scowl. The Man of Steel can easily eliminate Luthor, but the fact that he was kneeling before his nemesis means that Luthor might be blackmailing him into something he does not want to do.

The third piece of information is that Luthor has obtained General Zod's corpse, and he has smuggled it to Lexcorp. While experimenting with the corpse, Luthor will trigger a genome that turns the body into Doomsday, who has the power to destroy Earth.

Moreover, Luthor has a huge stash of kryptonite, and he was seen staring at the green rock intently. Luthor does not possess any supernatural powers, and wielding kryptonite before Superman is the only way he can beat the powerful superhero. There is also a rumor that Batman will wield a kryptonite spear during his battle with Superman, so Wayne must have also gotten hold of Luthor's stash somehow.

Lastly, the stakes are also high for Luthor during the huge battle between Batman and Superman. He is actually quite pleased that they are destroying each other, and he even gleefully said: "Black and blue. God vs. man. Day vs. night." Their epic fight might have even been orchestrated by Luthor himself, since the villainous billionaire is not content to just see Superman destroyed, but also humiliated and disgraced without reprieve. At the same time, Luthor prefers to have somebody else do the dirty work while he sits and wait, so Batman is definitely a good pawn for his plans.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is directed by Zack Snyder and will be released on March 23, 2016.
