Game publisher 2K Sports has announced that legendary wrestling superstar Stone Cold Steve Austin will be featured in the cover art of the upcoming "WWE 2K16."

The company also accompanied the announcement with a new trailer for the game featuring the Texas Rattlesnake.

Austin first joined the WWE universe in 1995, which, back then, was still called as the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). His outspoken and rugged demeanor instantly made him a fan-favorite during his 20-year service to the entertainment company.

Since he hasn't stepped inside WWE ring for a long time, Austin said he was surprised when the game developers told him that they want him to be on the cover of "WWE 2K16."

"It caught me completely off guard," he told WWE.com. "I figured I'd been gone for such a long time; it's been a while."

"To get that phone call and be on the cover of what is going to be the biggest, baddest video game that there's ever been, with the roster and all the technology, and to be out of the ring for so many years meant a whole lot to me," Austin added.

Aside from gracing the cover, Austin will also be a playable character in the upcoming game. He will join the game's impressive roster of 120 characters from past and present WWE generations.

Previously, 2K revealed that some of the members of the game's roster include Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose, Bad News Barrett, Paige and Finn Balor. The other characters will be revealed by the company in the weeks leading to the game's official release.

"WWE 2K16" is set to be released in North America on Oct 27 of this year. It will be available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
