Publisher Electronic Arts has launched a special summer-themed project for the players of its life-simulation game, "The Sims 4."

The project invites all players to post pictures of their Sim characters while enjoying summer activities.

According to an update on "The Sims" website, gamers can participate in the project by taking a screenshot of their game characters doing anything that's related to summer. This includes having a backyard barbecue, enjoying a pool party or simply hanging out under the sun.

Players should then upload the pictures on their Instagram or Twitter accounts with the tag #SimSummer. EA will then compile these photos and post them on its own social media accounts.

Some of those who will participate will receive gifts from EA such as "The Sims 4" sunglasses, towels, water bottles and lanyards.

The company noted that new themes for the project will be unveiled within the next few weeks.

EA's latest project for "The Sims 4" is perfect for the recent content update released for the game. Last month, the company debuted the Perfect Patio Stuff pack which comes with new outdoor furniture. In addition, the content pack also features new summer-themed hairstyles and clothes for Sim characters.

"Perfect Patio Stuff gives your Sims all the things they need to create an awesome outdoor space," EA announced. "There's a new grill and patio bar where Sims enjoy some outdoor dining, and new furniture and décor to help keep your Sim's backyard looking fresh and stylish."

"New swimsuits, hairstyles and casual outfits are also included for Sims who want to relax in the afternoon sun," the company added.

Also, the content pack includes a hot tub which can accommodate up to eight characters including Sim children. According to EA, this is the first time in the series' history that gamers are allowed to put young Sim characters inside a hot tub.
