The developer of the upcoming "Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5" has shared new details regarding the game through the PlayStation blog.

One of these features is the game's multiplayer mode which can accommodate up to 20 players at the same time.

According to Josh Tsui, the president of development studio Robomodo, the main selling point of "Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5" is its multiplayer option. With this mode, gamers can either compete with other players from different parts of the world or simply enjoy the game with their friends.

"Online multiplayer is where 'Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5' truly takes off, letting players drop in and out of ongoing online skate sessions with friends and challengers from around the world; it's like a skatepark that never closes," Tsui wrote.

"Complete missions, unlock new content and level up online or offline, or go head-to-head on the fly against all takers in competitive matches," he added. "You can play with 20 people at once, which is insane."

Aside from the multiplayer mode, Tsui added that players also have the option to design and build their own skateparks which can be shared to other gamers. Unfortunately for PlayStation 3 owners, the executive noted that the online features of the game will only be available for the PlayStation 4.

As for its game play, "Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5" will focus on classic elements that are similar to those featured in previous titles in the series. These include taking on various tasks and creating long combos by using transition tricks such as manuals, grinds and reverts.

"Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5" is scheduled to be released for the PlayStation 4 on September 29. Its PlayStation 3 version will come out sometime during the fourth quarter of this year, according to IGN.

The game will feature a number of pro skaters such as Tony Hawk, Chris Cole, Leticia Bufoni, David Gonzalez, Andre Reynods, Aaron Homoki, Nyjah Huston, Riley Hawk and Ishod Wair.
