Months following her social media silence, it looks like Iggy Azalea has once again landed herself in a tough spot as her Question and Answer session in Twitter turned awry following her reportedly "shady" remarks against pop star Britney Spears in connection with the duo's collaboration in "Pretty Girls," according to Us Magazine.
When one of her fans noted that the said single appeared to have performed in a less impressive manner compared with the rapper's earlier hits, such as "Fancy" and "Black Widow," Azalea seemed to have passed the blame to her duet partner, Spears. According to Nick Young's fiancée, the underwhelming success of "Pretty Girl" was partly due to the lack of marketing strategies to help the song gain traction. "It's difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and TV performances etc.," Azalea explained to the fan on Twitter. The Australian artist added, "Unfortunately, I'm just featured."

Azalea then went on to allegedly hint on Spears' slacking off in terms of exerting effort to give the single the necessary push as the rapper said, "I would have enjoyed performing it a lot. I think it got off to a powerful start. But you need content to compete in 2015." Unsurprisingly, fans and followers of the pop princess were overcome with rage over what appeared to be a direct criticism against their idol. Azalea was subsequently confronted about her accusations. For her part, the rapper clarified that the responses she sent out via social media were not insults hurled against Spears. Rather, she was merely putting in her two cents on what could have possibly been added to the marketing of the single to make it more successful. She explained via Twitter, "I'm sure you would have enjoyed some extra performances etc. of the song." She added, "Am I the bad guy for wishing we had done more?" Meanwhile, Spears has never been one to take criticisms lying down. In her own subtle way, the "Oops I Did It Again" star reportedly responded to Azalea's social media posts, according to Daily Beast. "Can't wait to get back to Vegas," Spears posted in Twitter. She added, "So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to... #YouWantAPieceOfMe"
