Details of a new smartphone from HTC have emerged in the database of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Based on the information provided by the government agency, the device could be a budget-friendly handset that will be released in the U.S.
The device has the FCC ID NM80PM9110 and can be used on 4G LTE networks. However, since the handset does not feature support for GSM or Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Droid Life noted that the device will probably not be marketed as HTC's flagship smartphone.
Given this detail, it is possible that the mysterious device might be an upcoming member of the company's Desire line of handsets.
The leaked device with model number 0PM9110 is not the only HTC handset that was leaked through the FCC this month.
Last week, another handset from the company, which has the model number 0PM3100, was also featured on the agency's database. Like the 0PM9110, this second handset might also be shipped as a mid-ranger due to its specifications.
The device's connectivity options are supported by Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0+EDR and v4.0-LE, GSM and certain LTE frequencies.
Various sources speculated that it might be the Plus variant of HTC's current flagship device, the One M9. However, based on the illustrations provided by the FCC, the handset's battery will feature the agency's logo on it. This strongly suggests that the handset might come with a removable battery pack, according to WCCF Tech.
If this is true, then the handset might not be the One M9 Plus or the successor of the company's other high-end devices since these usually feature a non-removable battery.
As for the other specs, the FCC did not provide details regarding the display size or camera features of the 0PM9110 and the 0PM3100. Since these two models are still undergoing FCC testing, it might take some time before HTC unveils their official details.
