The TalkBand B2 serves as the second wearable device released by Chinese smartphone maker Huawei.
Although it is designed as an activity tracker, it also doubles as a Bluetooth headset that allows users to answer phone calls.
According to various reviews, the TalkBand B2 features almost the same functions as other health-oriented wearable devices currently available in the market. It keeps track of the calories burned, the number of step taken, and the sleep duration of the user.
These functions and features can be activated and displayed by simply swiping down on the device's rectangular screen. The device also has a vibration mode that can be used to inform the user about certain alarms and notifications.
Like the Apple Watch, the device can be activated with a twist of the wrist. However, as noted by CNET, this feature is not as responsive as one could hope for. Sometimes, turning the wrist will not cause the device's screen to light up. On the other hand, the device will automatically be activated even though it's not being used.
Users, however, can just manually turn on the device by pressing a button on the side of the TalkBand B2 instead of relying on its wrist-gesture activation feature.
Aside from assisting users with their fitness routines, the device also functions as a Bluetooth headset. By working with a synced smartphone, the TalkBand B2 will notify the users once a call comes in. To answer, the users can remove the main body of the device from its band and place it on their ear. This feature provides users with the convenience of talking to someone on the phone without using their hands.
All these features are supported by the device's 96mAh battery. Huawei claims that this is enough to power the device for up to six days, according to Wired. However, depending on the device's usage and how many calls users take using the Bluetooth headset, the average battery life of the TalkBand B2 may vary.
