Asus has officially released its newest gaming laptop model dubbed as the ROG GL552.
Built specifically for gamers, Asus' latest device features major specs designed to provide a smooth gaming experience, according to International Business Times.
The ROG GL552 sports a 15.6-inch back-lit LED display with a built-in HD webcam. Its screen has a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.
To ensure that the laptop can deliver high-quality graphics, Asus equipped the device with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M with DirectX 12 support and the Intel HD Graphics 4600 IGPU.
Powering the laptop is the quad-core Intel Core i7 processor that clocks in up to 3.6GHz. The device is also equipped with the Mobile Intel HM86 chipset.
The ROG GL 552 features GameFirst III Technology, which offers a lag-free game play experience by allocating more bandwith to prioritize gaming networks.
To further enhance the users' experience, the device's keyboard sports a unique design. The entire keyboard is illuminated by a red backlight with a brighter highlight for the WASD key group for better visibility.
According to Asus, the keys of the ROG GL552 are more responsive than those of a traditional keyboard. Aside from their low-profile design, each easy-touch key has a travel distance of only 1.8 mm.
The gaming laptop comes with a total system memory of 8GB DDR3 1600. But since the device's dedicated memory is fully upgradeable, the laptop has a removable cover on its bottom panel. This allows users to easily access and replace the device's M.2 SSD, memory slots and hard drive.
The device sports a matte black and grey finish and runs on the Windows 8.1 OS.
Asus released the ROG GL552 in India for RS 70,999 or around $1,116. It can be purchased through various online shopping sites such as Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal and Asus Exclusive Stores. Currently, there are no official announcements yet as to when the latest gaming laptop from Asus will debut in the U.S. market.
