"Hellboy" star Ron Perlman admits that he still gets asked a lot about the fate of his tough, beastly red superhero. Even though he has moved on to other projects such as "Hand of God," it is still his first two "Hellboy" films that are getting a lot of attention.

"The discussion has now overtaken me rather than me overtaking the discussion. And here I am in Monte Carlo, working on my suntan, and people are still asking me about 'Hellboy 3,' so I guess it's still news," he told Variety in an interview. "But I'll tell you the same thing I've been telling everyone else, the 'Hellboy' saga was meant to have a beginning, a middle and an end, and that, if you were loyal enough to us where you came and watched both those two movies that we made, we owe you a resolve."

When asked if "Hellboy 3" has already been written, Perlman answered that it is actually in director Guillermo del Toro's head, and all he has to do is put it on paper. Del Toro has shared a lot of his vision to Perlman so the actor knows for a fact that it's going to be "mind-blowing."

"It will be great cinema," he said. "And if you are somebody who followed the first two movies, it will be even more mind-blowing because we have something. If you liked the first one and the second one, we have something really rock' em, shock 'em in the third one."

When "Hellboy II: The Golden Army" left off, Hellboy's girlfriend Liz Sherman (played by Selma Blair) is pregnant with their twins and Hellboy is contemplating their future. When he was battling the Golden Army before that announcement, Hellboy was seen struggling with his own demons so Perlman said that "there will come a time where he will have to live up to his destiny."

This destiny, according to the actor, is to be the beast of the apocalypse. But if he chooses to suppress that destiny by sacrificing himself in some way so as not to destroy mankind but do the opposite, then there will be some repercussions that should be dealt with.

"And that is the discussion of the third film; I think it's a discussion worth having, and I think it's something we owe the fans and I'm being very clear about that with," said Perlman.
