The producer of "NBA 2K16" revealed that the game will have a new feature that will allow gamers to take advantage of the height of tall characters.
This is considered as a major addition to the "NBA 2K" franchise since this game play feature was not included in previous titles.
Last week, "NBA 2K16" producer Zach Timmerman said on Twitter that new animation features have been added to the game.
"Just dropped in 32 new backdown animations for #2K16," he tweeted.
Although Zimmerman did not go into detail regarding the new additions, Latin Post noted that it has something to do with utilizing the advantage of post players.
According to the news site, through this feature, big characters will be able to use their size to move back against their guards to move closer to the basket and offer more support to their teammates.
Although these big players are not as high-profile as the shooting guards of the team, enabling them to take advantage of their size can enhance the realism of the game, according to Master Herald.
As for the other game play features of "NBA 2K16," it was previously reported that that developers Visual Concepts and 2K Sports have enlisted the help of award-winning director Spike Lee to oversee the game's MyCareer mode.
Under the director's supervision, the mode will be more realistic compared to previous "NBA 2K" titles as it will focus more on the social and professional hardships of becoming a professional basketball player for the NBA.
"We follow a kid through the trials and tribulations of being a top high school player and the decisions he has to make," Lee told USA Today.
"NBA 2K16" is expected to be released on September 29, 2015. It will be available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows platforms.
For the next installment in the "NBA 2K" franchise, the game will feature NBA superstars James Harden, Stephen Curry and Anthony Davis as its cover athletes.
