Sources confirmed that Samsung's Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge devices have started receiving the Android 5.1.1 update.
According to reports, the over-the-air file is currently being seeded by T-Mobile to users in the U.S., Sam Mobile has learned.
Although some users are already receiving the update, Samsung has not yet issued an official announcement regarding the roll out.
For T-Mobile, on the other hand, it was previously reported that the telecom company has been planning to unveil the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users since April shortly after the official release of the handsets, according to Android Authority.
When Samsung's two flagship devices debuted this year, they came with the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS. Through the update, users will be able to receive the various interface improvements and bug fixes included in the Lollipop's latest version.
The update, which has a file size of 635.49MB, comes with a new restricted Guest Mode feature. This feature allows other people, like friends or family members, to create a separate profile to access a device.
Although the guest user can use the device's various functions, he or she will not be able to view the owner's sensitive data such as text and email messages. Also, the content created by the guest user will automatically be deleted once the device's owner signs in.
Another feature of the update enhances the function of the device's camera app. Like in Apple's iPhones, Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users can now adjust the camera's exposure by simply moving the slider.
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update also comes with Parallax Effect. Activating this feature will make the wallpaper appear as if it's moving behind the icons, which will give the device's display a 3D-like effect.
With T-Mobile currently rolling out the update, users can expect to receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for their Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices through other major carriers soon.
