People have all seen Jason Segel in comedies while Hugh Jackman has long titillated audiences in action films. But now, these two actors will be teaming up with "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" star Rooney Mara and work on a drama called "Collateral" beauty.

Jackman and Mara have already signed on to feature in the film, while Segel is currently in negotiation, according to Variety.

"Collateral Beauty" tells the story of a New York advertising executive who unfortunately suffers a huge tragedy. Unable to comprehend or adjust to his new life after the tragedy, the executive's life begins to spiral out of control and he delves deeper into depression. His colleague takes notice of his downward spiral and so he devises a unique and unconventional plan to help break him out of his plight. The plan works, however not in the fashion that anyone actually imagined.

Alfonso Gomez-Rejon will be directing the movie after working on "Me and Earl and the Dying Girl," which was his second directorial effort.

At the Cannes Film Festival, "Collateral Beauty" received quite the positive attention with people scrambling left and right to get their hands on the script written by Allan Loeb. In the end, it was PalmStar Media Studio who managed to outbid its competitors and landed the highly coveted project.

Filming "Collateral Beauty" will start this Fall.

Segel shot to fame for his comedic role in the long-running television series "How I Met Your Mother," where he plays the environmentalist lawyer Marshall who is also Ted's best friend and Lily's insanely loyal husband.

When the series wrapped up, the actor ventured into film and has appeared in comedies and romantic comedies such as "I Love You, Man," "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" with "Veronica Mars" star Kristen Bell, and just recently, "Sex Tape" with Cameron Diaz.

But recently, Segel has been exploring his dramatic range and has appeared in David Foster Wallace's movie "The End of the Tour," which earned the actor the best reviews of his career.

He starred in the movie together with "The Social Network" star Jesse Eisenberg, who is set to portray the villainous Lex Luthor in the upcoming superhero film by Warner Bros.' DC Universe "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

The official synopsis for "The End of the Tour" reads: "A magazine reporter recounts his travels and conversations with author David Foster Wallace during a promotional book tour."
