‘Furious 7’ actor Jason Statham has reportedly been in talks with Marvel to take on the villainous role of Bullseye in the second season of ‘Daredevil.’
Based on the comic books, Bullseye is one of Matt Murdock’s major enemies and is recognized as a terrifying villain who never misses his targets.
Aside from Bullseye, Mr. Fear and Mysterio are also expected to make an appearance in season two. Recently, audition videos were uploaded online as alleged proof that Elektra will be included in the upcoming storyline.
Season two of ‘Daredevil’ is scheduled to begin filming in the next few months in time for an official premiere in the first half of 2016.
Statham will appear next in the action thriller ‘Mechanic: Resurrection’ with Jessica Alba; his last onscreen appearance had been in the action comedy ‘Spy’ alongside Melissa McCarthy.
Meanwhile, Rosario Dawson has been confirmed to be returning for the second season to reprise her role as nurse Claire Temple.
“After working with Rosario in the first season, we knew instantly that we had to have her back for our second,” Marvel TV Executive Producer Jeph Loeb stated on the company’s site last Friday.“Claire Temple proved a fan favorite in Season 1, and we can’t wait for fans to see all the plans we have for her next.”
Claire first appeared in episode two of ‘Daredevil’ when Matt Murdock, played by Charles Cox, was discovered to have been injured. Aside from helping him with his injuries, Claire also used her medical knowledge to aid the blind superhero all throughout the season.
However, it was her final appearance in episode 11 that brought on questions whether Dawson would still be coming back to reprise her role in the second season.
“I’m taking some time off,” Claire told Matt in the episode “The Path of the Righteous." She also said that she preferred to “get out of the city for a while.”
Although they have only shared a kiss twice, the kind-hearted nurse is being deemed as Matt’s love interest.
According to the 35-year-old actress, her character can be seen as a “normal person” but becomes more heroic in such a way that even Claire herself did not expect.
Last April 21, the renewal for the second season of ‘Daredevil’ was announced by Marvel and Netflix. Dawson was also confirmed to have signed an agreement that will enable her to make an appearance in any of Marvel’s other original shows on Netflix as her character can also be connected with other Defenders heroes.
