The recent episode of iZombie teased viewers of a possible Liv and Major reunion, but that sweet re-awakening of romance was snatched away as quickly as it had been given, and now Robert Buckley, the actor who plays Major in the show is discussing his character's future with his ex-fiance.
Talking to TV Line, the actor revealed that his character will have exciting encounters in the future as he get closer to the truth, and even said that there will be an "intense encounter" with zombie Blaine.
"All of us were like, 'Holy smokes! Those came out so good!'" Buckley shared. "Everyone's in danger, and it just gets crazier and crazier."
Going back to the confession (that did not really happen) made during the "Astroburger" episode, Buckley said that fans should have caught on that it was not real because Major did not even bat an eyelash after Liv confessed she was really a zombie.
"That's a pretty ridiculous, crazy confession. I don't know how anyone would take that. Major was insanely understanding," he said. "But he has shown himself to be a very loyal, loving guy. Who knows?"
Major is also one smart character, but he still has not put the pieces together why Liv has completely changed and turned into a completely different person (zombie).
Buckley said that he was trying to make sense of his character's thought process earlier on, and he thought: "Obviously, what she went through at the boat party was a very traumatic event. But a huge overnight change... What is it? Is it denial? I think sometimes, when you really love someone, they can become your blindspot. You're too close to it to see it. Or maybe you don't want to see it. Subconsciously, you don't want to acknowledge something."
Because of what Liv went through, Major cannot get himself to tell her how she should act or behave. He cannot see the "whole picture" either, said Buckley, and it's simply because his judgment is clouded by his feelings. Deep down, Major still loves Liv and wants to be with her.
Sadly though, Buckley does not think Liv is anywhere near ready to go back into a romantic relationship with Major. "She still would be putting him at risk. The whole Lowell thing hasn't changed that dynamic between Liv and Major," he said.Lowell is a zombie Liv got into a relationship with, but he was killed off by Blaine after he and Liv came up with a plan to eliminate Blaine once and for all.
