New rumors suggest that Samsung might be currently working on a bigger version of its Galaxy S6 Edge.
Various sources noted that the company is preparing to unveil this rumored device, which is being called Galaxy S6 Plus, within the next few weeks.
Rumors regarding the details of the Galaxy S6 Plus came from Italian tech site HDBlog. According to the site, it was able to obtain information regarding the device from its own insiders.
Internally, the Galaxy S6 Plus is codenamed Project Zero 2. This is another strong indicator that the upcoming handset is still part of the S6 family since the Galaxy S6 was originally called Project Zero when it was still in development.
According to Sam Mobile, the Galaxy S6 Plus will carry features that can be found on the Galaxy S6 Edge such as the 16-megapixel main camera and the 5-megapixel front shooter. Like the latter handset, the rumored device will also come with 32GB of internal storage.
For the display, however, the Galaxy S6 Plus will sport a larger screen. Its Super AMOLED dual-edge curved display will probably be 5.4 or 5.5 inches. If this is true, then a 5.5-inch display will put the Galaxy S6 Plus on the same level as Apple's iPhone 6 Plus in terms of screen size.
For its processor, Samsung will reportedly use Qualcomm's hexa-core Snapdragon 808 to power the device instead of its own Exynos chipset.
The alleged move by Samsung to release a bigger version of its current flagship device will probably not come as a surprise since the company did the same thing last year, as pointed out by Business Insider.
Months after releasing the Galaxy S5 in April, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S5 Plus.
Again, like with previous leaks, the details revealed about the Galaxy S6 Plus are all based on rumors. Samsung is yet to issue an official statement regarding Project Zero 2.
