Bill and Giuliana Rancic recently revealed that one of the best things to do to maintain a strong marriage is to keep their home a phone-free zone.
By keeping a dish in their front door, the couple expects each other to place their phones in it to avoid unnecessary texts, calls and emails while inside the house.
"The minute we come home, all our phones go in there," Bill said in a brief interview with People Magazine. "That way, we're not texting or emailing people at work. We're interacting with each other. It was hard at first, but we got used to it."
His wife, Giuliana, also shared her observations about people she knows who get home, check their phones and become distracted the whole time. As such, the couple’s goal is to not let these unpleasant incidents happen in their own home.
"Obviously, emergencies come up," the 40-year-old TV personality said. "And we're both very understanding of that. But you know, a lot of things that you think are emergencies really aren't. They can be handled later."
The Rancic couple has been set to move to Chicago this summer for several reasons. First, the place has been deemed as an ideal location to raise their two-year-old son, Duke. Second, the city remains a convenient location wherein they can run most of their businesses.
"Aside from all the TV projects, we have two booming restaurants in Chicago, RPM Italian and RPM Steak," Giuliana explained. "We're opening another one in Washington, D.C."
In addition, the couple also runs a production company and is looking forward to a show on Oxygen that will be out soon. Both Bill and Giuliana have collaborated for a wine company called XO, G that is based in Arkansas.
Due to their busy schedules, the duo also opened up about not wanting to waste time and to be as productive as they can be at the proper time.
"When I go to work, I work," Giuliana says. "I don't surf the Web, call my friends or socialize with other people.”
The E! host also revealed that she prefers eating lunch at her office desk and finishing her work before she gets home so as to avoid feeling guilty.
The Rancics were present at the fifth annual Runway to Hope Spring Fashion Soiree which sought to raise funds for families affected by pediatric cancer.
This had been the second time that the couple hosted the charity event which, this year alone, raised over $1.2 million.
"Everyone's busy, but this is something we have to make time for,” Bill explained. "There is always time to give to others."
