Earth will be perfectly safe in the next Transformers movie, reportedly called Transformers One, since the setting will be in Cybertron.

According to Deadline, Transformers One is already in the works and will be an origin story of of the anthropomorphic automatons. However, it is still unclear whether the movie will be a live action film or an animated feature.

To recall, the cliffhanger ending of Transformers: Age of Extinction showed Autobot leader Optimus Prime leaving Earth in search of their Creators, so all signs were pointing at the sequel being set in outer space.

Should the Cybertron report pan out, there are actually some concerns, the first being: Where does that leave lead actor Mark Wahlberg? It would not seem plausible to see him in Cybertron, and should he be there, more questions would be raised.

At the same time, the franchise has already established a solid connection between humans and the Autobots, so a departure from Earth will force creators to come up with a completely unique storyline.

Paramount has reportedly recruited people to start working on Transformers One. Marvel's Ant-Man writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari were chosen, with the latter possibly chosen by director Michael Bay.

Other names included Akiva Goldsman, who would serve as the "brains" for the new movies, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirman, Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Pacific Rim 2's Zak Penn and Amazing Spider-Man 2's Jeff Pinkner.

They would probably start working on the movie once Bay completes directing the Benghazi drama "13 Hours."

"Transformers: Age of Extinction" was actually last year's most profitable blockbuster, raking in a $245M domestic gross, $545M on foreign soil, and another $301M China.

Its predecessor was even more impressive since "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" grossed in a total of $1.12B, making it the first Transformers movie to hit the billion dollar mark.

The first three Transformers films actually starred Shiah LeBeouf. It started in 2007 with "Transformers," followed by 2009 film "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," then the 2011 movie "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

LeBeouf's original leading lady was Megan Fox, but after a spat with the director, she was booted out of the franchise and replaced by supermodel Rosie Huntington Whitley, who is the current girlfriend of action star Jason Statham.

In the fourth movie, the entire Transformers cast was revamped and LeBeouf was replaced by Walberg, with Optimus Prime and his Autobots still on the side of humans.
