‘Game of Thrones’ star Lena Headey is bringing the good side of Cersei Lannister into real life as she prepares to welcome her second child, who will be arriving in less than two months.
"I am having a baby girl in six weeks. You have all been so lovely in your messages to me, and I thank you for that," she stated.
Revealing that she is expecting a baby girl, the actress also shared a personal blog post on PlanUSA.org titled ‘My Daughter.’
Headey wrote about supporting women’s rights in developing nations in order for such individuals to have the same privileges that she and her future daughter are and will be enjoying.
"My daughter will have freedom of choice. She will be free to dance, to sing, to be educated in the fields that spark her passion, to marry if she wants, to marry WHO she wants, to remain single, or to fall in love with another woman,” Headey further wrote.
The actress also included her unborn child’s rights to wearing what she prefers and learning what she perceives is important to expand her mind. In the end, she believes that her daughter should be showered with love and respect.
Although the ‘300’ actress first announced her pregnancy in February, she did not go into details of who her daughter’s father is.
"I'm happy to confirm that I'm having my second child this summer," Headey said in an interview with People Magazine. She also touched on her encounters with the paparazzi and how these have affected her experience with motherhood.
"I only hope that this announcement can help me to regain some of the privacy I have recently lost to prying photographers and ask that they please respect my privacy and let me enjoy this time,” the actress said.
Headey has had one son named Wylie with her ex-husband Peter Loughran. During the process of divorce, the ‘Purge’ actress compared the experience to somebody dying.
"There's a lot of hurt and sadness and disappointment. Grief. Massive grief," she said in an interview with More magazine. "It's a mourning process, and yet nobody's died."
The 40-year-old actress also expressed her sentiments about her ongoing battle with depression, which she has been able to control recently.
"I haven't had a spell in a long time. I think some people's brains are just wired that way if you're a thinker," she said.
Meanwhile, after her character was arrested in the last episode of ‘Game of Thrones’, Cersei is still expected to be subjected to a formal trial with which she announces her plans on having a trial by combat.
‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5 airs every Sunday at 9p.m. ET on HBO.
