Microsoft's Lumia 840 mobile device and its dual SIM variant appeared in a report by Zauba, an Indian website that keeps track of imported and exported products. According to the report, the two devices were shipped to India for testing purposes, NDTV reported.
Both devices, which are categorized as phablets, come with 5.7-inch dislplay. They will also be powered by an octa-core processor from Qualcomm, which is probably the Snapdragon 810. Both have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded using a microSD card.
The handsets sport a 20-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter. The two variants are expected to run on the newest version of the Lumia Denim update for Windos 8.1. But, Microsoft may go with a different direction and equip it with Windows 10 once it launches.
According to the site's listing, which was obtained by Nokia Power User, the rumored Microsoft Lumia 840 has a retail price of Rs 38,346 or around $600. However, this figure may not be the final price of the unit since it does not include taxes or other import/export fees.
The site did not mention a possible release date for the new handset but since it is already in its testing phase, it's possible that Microsoft might launch its newest product soon.
Aside from the Lumia 840, rumors also suggest that Microsoft is working on another handset dubbed as the Talkman. According to sources, this device will come with a smaller, 5.2-inch Quad HD display and will have 32GB of built-in storage. This can also be expanded through a microSD card.
The device will be powered by a Qualcomm hexa-core processor and will be equipped with 3GB of RAM. It will sport a 20-megapixel rear snapper and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Talkman device is expected to run on a 3300mAh battery.
