It seems there is a bit of confusion regarding the roll out of the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for the Xperia T3 in Sony's subdivision in France.

Earlier this week, Sony Xperia FR tweeted that the update is scheduled to arrive for the handset soon but then deleted the post a couple of days later, Xperia Blog reported.

On May 21, a representative from the company answered a Twitter user's question regarding the arrival of the software update for the Xperia T3 handset.

"Hi, yes Lollipop is planned to be launched on the Xperia T3 in the following weeks," the company tweeted.

However, the tweet was later on deleted and on May 25, Sony Xperia FR clarified that it made a mistake regarding the post. Although the company did not directly state that the update will not arrive for the Xperia T3, Sony Xperia FR noted that the Lollipop upgrade is only currently available to Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 devices.

"In fact, it was a mistake because Lollipop is ready only for #XperiaT2Ultra and #Xperia C3 (besides the Z series)," the company said in response to a user's question regarding the previous post.

Due to the company's conflicting responses, it isn't clear if or when the update will arrive for the Xperia T3 handset. Hopefully, Sony will release a formal statement to clarify the issue.

The Xperia T3, which first came out in July of last year, is still currently running on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. This has been the handset's operating system since it first debuted.

As for its other counterparts, such as the Xperia C3, T2 Ultra and members of the Xperia Z series, they have all started receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, according to the International Business Times.

Through the upgrade, the devices received various improvements such as a new Material Design, more notification options, enhanced security, multi-user features, better connectivity and improved battery capacity.
