A YouTube user has created a parody trailer from the action film "Mad Max: Fury Road" using elements from the popular racing game series "Mario Kart."

Using the film's actual trailer, user Kris Sundberg skillfully edited certain portions of the clip to create "Mario Kart: Fury Road," according to Cinema Blend.

Upon watching the clip, fans of the racing game series will immediately recognize certain elements taken from the "Mario Kart" franchise.

For the parody, the user re-casted personalities from the film as characters from the game through minor voice work and color schemes. These include Nicholas Hoult's Nux as Koopa Troopa, Charlize Theron's Imperator Furiosa as Princess Peach, Hugh Keays-Byrne's Immortan Joe as Bowser and Tom Hardy's Max as the hero, Mario, Gamerant reported.

Aside from characters, Sundberg also edited the clip to include audio effects from the game, background elements and even power-ups. In one particular scene, a post-apocalyptic vehicle jumps from the side of the road to collect a floating special item box.

The rainbow from the game also makes a brief appearance in the middle of the clip.

As for those clamoring for a real "Mad Max: Fury Road" game, development firm Avalanche Studios is currently working on one.

Simply dubbed as "Mad Max," the game utilizes an open-world setting which will allow players to roam around in a wide environment. Keeping in line with the film's theme, one of the objectives of the game is for players to build their own car. They can then customize this by reinforcing it and adding new weapons.

As for its game play, "Mad Max" will also feature hand-to-hand combat, and not just pure vehicular warfare. As noted by a previous article from Gamerant, the game utilizes a combat system similar to the one featured in the "Batman: Arkham" series.

The "Mad Max" game is scheduled for release in September of this year and will be available for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
