The characters from Terminator: Genisys are all set to stop the end of the world as seen in the new TV spot released by Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions.
The TV spot offered a few new scenes from the highly anticipated movie, and showed Arnold Schwarzenegger's robot character being grilled by authorities. "Witnesses say you were fighting with a man on the bridge," someone told the Guardian.
He later tells him, "You don't talk much, do you?" but he was surprised to see Schwarzenegger's character get up, break his chain handcuffs and look intently at the man behind the glass.
Later, Emilia Clarke's character Sarah Connor was seen in the same position. "You can't hold us here," she pleads with authorities. A few quick snippets of actions scenes were shown and someone asks, "Who are you people?" And Sarah Connor simply says: "We're here to stop the end of the world."
The main villains are the terminators, who now seem to be stronger than ever, and there was one who holds up the Guardian in a chokehold and says, "In less than 24 hours, the machines will rule the world."
The trailer actually teases a "new threat" as well as a "new fate."
The official movie plot reveals: "After finding himself in a new time-line, Kyle Reese teams up with John Connor's mother Sarah and an aging terminator to try and stop the one thing that the future fears, 'Judgement Day.'"
In the film, John Connor is played by Jason Clarke. John has fulfilled his destiny and is now the leader of human resistance. He sends his Sgt. Kyle Reese, played by Divergent actor Jai Courtney back to 1984 to protect his mother Sarah Connor and safeguard their future, but there are unexpected turn of events that fractures their timeline.
Because of this, Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version in the past, where he is forced to team up with unlikely allies including the Guardian. Together, they battle dangerous new enemies and try to reset the future.
Aside from Schwarzenegger, Clarke, and Courtney, other stars of the movie include J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, Matthew Smith, Courtney B. Vance, and Byung-Hun Lee.
Terminator: Genisys is directed by Thor: The Dark World filmmaker Alan Taylor, with screenplay coming from Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. It will hit cinemas on July 1, 2015, and will mark the start of a new trilogy of films.
