After his successful portrayal as cheating husband Nick Dunne in award-winning movie "Gone Girl," which he starred together with Rosamund Pike as his onscreen sociopathic wife Amy, American actor Ben Affleck will next be seen in Warner Bros' new thriller called "The Accountant."
The movie has been given a January 29 release date and it will be Affleck's next project after "Gone Girl." In it, he will be playing a brilliant accountant who moonlights as an assassin, according to Variety.
The film is directed by Gavin O'Connor, with Bill Dubuque manning the script. Affleck's co-stars would include Pitch Perfect actress Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons, Jon Bernthal and Cynthia Addai-Robinson.
Meanwhile, Lynette Howell and Mark Williams will be serving as producers.
Other projects being handled by the studio include a Miles Teller and Jonah Hill crime comedy called "Arms and the Dudes," which is slated for release on March 11 next year. It will be directed by Todd Phillips and will share the story of two Miami stoners who wound up with a government contract to supply weapons for U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
Moreover, Warner Bros has also dated "Project XX," a sequel to 2012's high-school comedy "Project X," for August 19, 2016.
Affleck is a highly talented actor and filmmaker who has two Academy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards under his belt. He started acting when he was just a kid, starring in the educational series called "The Voyage of the Mimi."
However, he earned mainstream recognition when he and his good buddy Matt Damon starred in Good Will Hunting back in 1997. After that, he starred in the 1998 film Armageddon and Shakespeare in Love. In 2001, he played a war pilot in Pearl Harbor and even took on the role of blind superhero Daredevil in 2003.
Probably the lowest point of the actor's career was when he did the 2003 film Gigli with his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. The two ended their engagement eventually and Affleck married Jennifer Garner in 2005.
He directed his first film Gone Baby Gone in 2007, then also wrote, directed and starred in The Town. When he directed and starred in the 2012 flick Argo, Affleck was once again lauded and received numerous awards as Best Director.
Aside from The Accountant, Affleck will be playing another superhero. This time, he will be Bruce Wayne, better known as Batman in the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice movie.
