Actress Jaime King recently revealed her intentions of choosing close pal Taylor Swift as a godparent for her second child with husband Kyle Newman.

Speaking to People Magazine at the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s 2nd Super Saturday event in Los Angeles, the ‘Hart of Dixie’ star opened up about how she chooses her children’s godparents.

“You know it doesn’t matter where you come from or who you are or what you do,” King explained. “For me, choosing a godparent is a very sacred experience.”

The 36-year-old star, who was present at the event in support for the OCRF and Mary Kay Cosmetics, took to Instagram last March and announced that she had chosen the ‘Shake It Off’ singer as godmother to her unborn child.

Already a mother to 19-month-old James Knight, King believes that Swift will actively take on the role and do an impressive job.
“She’s going to be, like, the best godmother in the whole world,” King said. “The best.”

Despite having already started her ‘1989’ World Tour, Swift has been dutifully visiting King and her baby-to-be, as evident in her posts on Instagram.

“I was having my doctor check-up the other night and she came to visit andthe baby was kicking for her,” King said. “It was so exciting and fun and sweet. She’s just fantastic.”However, King explained that she has chosen Swift not for the name or fame but mainly for her beliefs and behaviors.

“It wasn’t because of it was this person and the name, it was really because of her morals and her values and the way that treats people and how hard-working she is and her family and how close she is to them,” King shared.

The actress also believes that Swift’s attitude towards her followers and loved ones meets her expectations for her child’s godparents.

”I see what she gives out there to her fans and to her family and that’s the kind of person I want to be the guide and the spiritual protector of my child.”

Earlier this month, King also revealed that she was having a baby boy. The second-time mother-to-be announced her baby’s gender in a clip filmed taken by Swift in one of the singer’s visits.

In the short video, Swift can be seen touching the actress' stomach and feeling the baby’s kick, as Jaime happily said: "He's sticking his arm up for you," and the singer responds with: "That's crazy! Happy Mother's Day."

Meanwhile, aside from godmother duties, the former country singer has been kept busy as her ‘Bad Blood’ music video recently debuted at the Billboard Music Awards.

As a star-studded video, it featured mostly Swift’s famous friends, including Selena Gomez, Zendaya, Hailee Steinfeld, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss and Ellie Goulding, to name a few.
