Samsung has announced new color variants for its Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones.
Based on a press release from the South Korean tech giant, the Blue Topaz and Green Emerald color versions will be marketed to appeal to users based on their personalities.
There are no official release dates yet for the two color variants but as pointed out by 9to5Google, they will probably be launched soon and might vary by country. Also, the Blue Topaz and Green Emerald will only be available for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge respectively.
According to a press release from Samsung, the company consulted psychologists and Pantone, a leading institute that forecasts color trends, regarding the new design schemes for its flagship devices. Aside from their fashionable appeal, Samsung stated that the two colors will be specifically marketed based on personality types.
The Blue Topaz variant, which will be exclusively available for the Galaxy S6, is designed for confident and self-assured individuals, according to psychologist Dr. Donna Dawson.
"People who opt for Samsung's Blue Topaz Galaxy S6 are likely more self-confident, fastidious, discriminating, sensitive, exacting and intuitive," she said in Samsung's press release.
The Green Emerald Galaxy S6 Edge version, on the other hand, is for those who want to own a sophisticated and professional-looking handset.
"People who choose Green as their preferred color will tend to be balanced, loyal, hard-working, honest, benevolent and concerned for others," Dawson stated.
"They may aspire to be good citizens with a highly-developed moral sense and a desire for simplicity," she added.
Despite having new color designs, the Blue Topaz and Green Emerald versions of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will still have the same specifications as their White Pearl, Blue Sapphire and Gold Platinum counterparts.
The two new variants will also come in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB internal storage models.
