Taylor Swift has recently announced that Selena Gomez is the lead actress for the upcoming music video of her "Bad Blood" single. The former Disney star is also the final cast member to be announced before the premiere of the video this Sunday night.
Swift has been sharing teaser posters for the ‘Bad Blood’ music video weeks before the highly-anticipated clip will finally be unveiled at the Billboard Music Awards.
As an action-themed video, the former country singer has enlisted her famous friends to take part in the making of the upcoming video for the ‘Bad Blood’ song, which has been speculated to have taken inspiration from Swift’s rumored feud with pop star and former BFF Katy Perry.
"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," Swift said, although she refused to mention any names. "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'"
Soon enough, Swift dropped hints that Katy is the subject of the song as backup dancers reportedly left the ‘Red’ tour to work with the ‘Teenage Dream’ singer on her ‘Prismatic’ tour.
For the ‘Bad Blood’ music video, black and white movie posters looking as if they were spattered in blood stains have been released with the caption: “Band-Aids Don’t Fix Bullet Holes.”
Each of the teaser posters resembles the film ‘Sin City’ released in 2005, which coincides with the fact that ‘Sin City’ actress Jessica Alba is included in Swift’s video to portray ‘Domino.”
The film also starred Jaime King, who has already confirmed that Swift will be a godmother for her second child.
Aside from Gomez, members of Swift’s circle of friends that have been included in the video include Lena Dunham, Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Lily Aldridge, Lena Dunham, Hailee Steinfeld, Hayley Williams and Ellie Goulding, to name a few.
All in all, the ‘Bad Blood’ music video will reportedly feature starring roles portrayed by Golden Globe, Emmy and Grammy winners along with an Oscar nominee, iconic supermodels and new runway models alike.
Swift was able to make 14 entries in 13 categories for her ‘1989’ album alone, enabling the pop star to have the most number of nominations among all other music artists for this year’s Billboard Music Awards.
