Jon Snow’s parents have long been a question among viewers of ‘Game of Thrones’ as well as readers of the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ book series. As the storyline puts it, Jon believes he is the bastard son of Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell, and a lowborn woman whose character has generated various speculations.

Meanwhile, a former actor in the franchise believes that he has an idea about who might not be a parent to Jon and that would be Ned Stark himself.

In an interview with Vulture, Sean Bean shared his opinion on whether Jon is a son of Ned Stark, which the actor portrayed in the first season of ‘Game of Thrones.’

“He’s not my child. He isn’t. That’s what I suspected all along,” Bean said, restating his response in a previous interview in which he expressed his beliefs about Ned merely being an adoptive father to Jon.

According to Bean, the actor prefers to look out for a storyline based on fan-based theories, including one that agrees with his belief that Ned is not Jon’s biological father. “I think that’s probably an interesting journey for Jon Snow as a character and for [Kit Harington] as the actor,” Bean said.

The former ‘Lord of the Rings’ star also added that the Warden of the North may still play a key role in revealing certain answers to major questions about the true lineage of Jon Snow.

“I’ve definitely got some unfinished business that needs to be resolved there,” Bean said, after saying that he would be interested to return for the sixth season if there is an opportunity.

Meanwhile, actor Kit Harington has been busy balancing his time between playing Jon in the HBO hit series and filming much more modern scenes for the upcoming film ‘Spooks: The Greater Good.’

The 28-year-old star also compared ‘Game of Thrones’ with his new spy thriller movie, which is based on a British drama series.

"I don't think you can ever count on anyone making it alive in ‘Game of Thrones’, as with ‘Spooks’ when it was on air,” Harington said. “I really don't know. I love Jon, I hope he does, but you can't get too attached."

Directed by Bharat Nalluri, the film also stars Jennifer Ehle and Lara Pulver. ‘Spooks: The Greater Good’ has been scheduled for an official release on May 8 in the U.K.
