After reportedly earning $15 million with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2014, rumors surfaced that Jeremy Lin may become a free agent in 2015. After being benched by Byron Scott, it is clear that Lin has several other options available to him in the upcoming season.
He can choose to stay with the Lakers, follow former coach Mike D’Antonio, or can choose to accept an offer from the Houston Rockets, amongst many other options open to him. Players can either thrive or die under the coaches they play for, Lin thrived with Mike D’Antonio and he was benched by Scott. During his time with the New York Knicks coached by D’Antonio, Lin received the cult following, “Linsanity.” Whereas in the Lakers, Scott replaced the starting player with Ronnie Price.

For the Knicks in 2011, he averaged at 18.2 points and 17.6 assists. In 2010, Lin played 29 games for the Warriors, averaging at 2.6 points, 1.4 assists, and 1.2 rebounds.
At Harvard, Lin played all four years, playing in 115 games and averaging 12.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. He broke records in Ivy League history by reaching 1,450 points, 400 assists, and 450 rebounds. Lin was undrafted in the 2010 NBA Draft and signed as a rookie free agent.
