If you hate math, then help has finally arrived in the form of an app. MathCrunch is a mobile app that tutors students on subjects such as basic calculus, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and other math-related subjects.
Since finding a good tutor can be a tough feat, MathCrunch has decided to create an app that will answer this need, at a more affordable price. To turn its plan into a reality, the company raised $3.5 million through seed funding.
"Get instant math help on your phone. Submit a problem, instantly connect with an experienced tutor, reach a solution and most importantly, learn. MathCrunch is the fastest and most convenient way to get help with math," the app's description reads on Google Play.
Tutors are available 24/7, so those who are up late at night can turn to the app in case they encounter a tough math problem to crunch. Users can also take a photo of the math problem they are trying to solve, and show it to a MatchCrunch tutor.
Does it sound too good to be true? Those who have used the app share their experience.
"Too good to be true When I was having difficulty studying for my College Algebra final, I took a photo of my homework and within seconds, I had a live tutor helping step me through the problem and showed me my mistakes!! It was amazing. Math Crunch is awesome," an Android user shared.
After downloading the math tutorials app, users can get free minutes. They can also get free minutes after inviting friends to use it, too. After the free trial, users are charged by the minute. They can purchase "prepaid minutes" via the app. The rate for a 120-minute tutorial is $40, $22 for 60 minutes, and $12 for 30 minutes.
Tutors on the app are real teachers and people who are expert at the subject. They are paid per minute and are given flexible schedules. Prior to getting hired, tutors must first pass a test and go on a half an hour chat with a senior tutor, Tech Crunch reported.
MathCrunch to available on iOS and Android devices.
