Villages in the mountainous regions of Nepal have been heavily affected by the recent earthquake, but have been difficult to access.

Good Neighbors has been sending material and medical relief aid to Nepal, which recently suffered a devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake. The Good Neighbors office in Nepal was closest to the epicenter, and faced significant damages as a result, but the relief organization was able to provide efficient aid to villages in the mountainous regions that have been difficult to reach due to its close proximity to these villages.

Good Neighbors has been participating in relief work and doing ministry through education in this area for over 10 years, and thus, has been able to offer more effective aid to the Nepalese people during these difficult times.

Good Neighbors distributed relief aid materials to thousands of families since the earthquake in Nepal.

Immediately after the earthquake, Good Neighbors entered into villages by foot to offer material relief aid, and recently received help from Wonju Severance Christian Hospital to bring medical aid to the villages as well. In a village five hours away by car from Gorkha, Good Neighbors set up a portable treatment clinic, and the medical team has been treating some 200 patients each day. Furthermore, Good Neighbors provided hygiene and sanitation kits to some 370 families to prevent infectious diseases from spreading. Relief materials were distributed to an estimate of 3,070 families between May 5 and 7.
