Google has finally confirmed that more searches are now done on mobile devices compared to desktops. Because of this, the search engine decided to make searches more functional by allowing users to "order food" via Google search.

Netizens can start placing their orders directly via the search engine using their smartphones.

"When you search for a nearby restaurant on your phone, you'll see an option to "Place an order" in the search results. Just tap that, choose the delivery service and you'll be taken to their website to complete the order," Google shared on its Google+ account.

The service is only available in the United States at the moment through six delivery providers: MyPizza.com, Eat24, Grubhub, Delivery.com, Seamless, and BeyondMenu. The Internet search giant promised to add more providers soon.

Those who reside out of the United States were quite unhappy not to have the service, though. Netizens made sure that Google was aware of it.

"Google how would a service like this in another country let you know they are interested in being part of this? Awesome for the USA and know that you probably won't roll it out in other countries for a while, but would like to be involved when it happens here in NZ," one netizen commented on the Google+ announcement.

The Internet giant is quite busy rolling out new products and services as of late-from its Android wing to search engine results. Last Mother's Day, Google created a "doodle" that symbolizes "the universality of familial love."

"Brainstorming for this Doodle and thinking of my own mom, lots of small moments and gestures of affection came up, so I decided to concentrate on that as a concept. When I started to sketch, early ideas included (but were not limited to) giraffes, gardening, and tossing children into pools," Google doodler Olivia Huynh shared.

Apart from this, Google has also created a huge web conference for teachers. The international web conference has convened around 43,000 educators from 12 countries all over the world for two days. With all these developments from Google, one message is getting across all netizens: the Internet search engine wants to stay relevant in everyone's life.
