Downton Abbey actress Lily James has been pretty busy following the success of her title role in Disney's most recent live-action fairy tale Cinderella, and now she has just landed another lead role in the movie Baby Driver, with Ansel Elgort as her co-star.
Elgort, who shot to the limelight after portraying the romantic Augustus Waters in James Green's tear-jerker novel-turned-movie The Fault in Our Stars will play a getaway driver in the upcoming movie with James, who according to Empire Online "grooves to his personal soundtrack on jobs to keep him at the top of his game."
However, things change for Elgort's character when he is forced to work for a crime boss on a doomed heist, and the future looks bleak for this fast driver.
No word has been provided yet about James' character in the movie. Placing her as Elgort's love interest would be a safe bet, but will she be the crime boss' daughter? The fast car driver's long-time girlfriend?
The movie will be directed by Edgar Wright, who has been developing the film for several years now. He was supposed to work on Marvel Cinematic Universe's Ant-Man, which stars Paul Rudd, but that did not happen so Wright's plans for Baby Driver went from being in the backseat to his priority.
As for James, the actress has been pretty busy working on different movies, and she will next be seen in the culinary comedy Adam James, where she co-stars with American Sniper actor Bradley Cooper. The movie has been given an October 2, 2015 release date.
Meanwhile, she will be portraying Jane Austen's classic favorite heroine Elizabeth Bennett in the zombie thriller Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which has been scheduled for a February 19, 2016 release. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is an extra special project for James because she got to work with real-life beau Matt Smith, who will play her spurned suitor, the bumbling Mr. Collins.
Smith is best known for his title role in the popular television series Doctor Who, and for some time, fans have been clamoring that he nab the part of magical zoologist Newt Scamander in the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is written by J.K. Rowling.
However, it seems like the role will now be going to another British actor Eddie Redmayne, who is widely recognized and acclaimed for his role as Doctor Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.
