After smartphone-maker OnePlus announced that the successor of its One device will most likely debut during the third quarter of this year, the firm's CEO teased its price.
According to OnePlus head Liu Zuohu, the OnePlus Two smartphone might have a retail price of CNY 2,499 or around $400 and could run on a powerful Snapdragon chip.
Zuohu made the revelation after asking his supporters about the possible specifications and price of the company's upcoming mobile device. The executive asked them how much the company should sell the OnePlus Two if it comes with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset.
After receiving satisfactory feedback from his supporters, the executive settled with the CNY 2,499 price.
"2499 Yuan seems to be a reasonable price," Zuohu posted on Weibo according to NDTV.
Despite mentioning the figure, NDTV noted that this does not mean that the OnePlus Two will be sold at the same price once it officially launches. In addition, this also does not confirm that the device will run on the Snapdragon 810 chipset.
As for its possible specifications, the OnePlus Two is rumored to sport a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080p. However, since it will be the successor of the OnePlus One, Pocket Now reported that it could have an upgraded Quad-HD display and a 6-inch screen.
Although Zuohu mentioned the Snapdragon 810 chip in his post, other sources suggest that the upcoming handset might come with the Snapdragon 805 processor instead.
The device is also rumored to have a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter. It will also have a 32GB of internal storage.
If OnePlus goes with the Snapdragon 810, then the Two smartphone will probably have either 3 or 4GB of RAM. As for its connectivity options, it will be supported by 4G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Micro-USB.
There are no official dates yet for the launch or release of the OnePlus Two but based on the company's previous announcements, the smartphone will debut sometime this year.
