Sony Pictures Animation has unveiled a new teaser poster for the upcoming animated sequel ‘Hotel Transylvania 2’ helmed by Genndy Tartakovsky.
This latest addition further highlights the changes that are coming to the humungous castle as Count Dracula, played by Adam Sandler, finally eases up when it comes to his policies that only welcome monsters to his hotel.
While he has opened the hotel's doors to human visitors, Dracula is worried that Dennis, his half-human, half-vampire grandson, is not showing any vampire-related signs at all.
As Mavis (Selena Gomez) sets out to visit her human in-laws with husband Johnny (Andy Samberg), Dracula calls on his closest pals including Frank (Kevin James), Murray (Keegan-Michael Key), Wayne (Steve Buscemi) and Griffin (David Spade).
Dracula then enlists his monster friends to help him place Dennis in a boot camp for monsters-in-training.
However, the Hotel Transylvania owner has no idea that his own father Vlad (Mel Brooks) will visit the hotel and find out that his great-grandson is not a pure-blood vampire. Things go from bad to worse when he also discovers that humans are now being welcomed at Hotel Transylvania.
The first ‘Hotel Transylvania’ movie was released in 2012 and was also directed by Tartakovsky, who created popular animated shows such as ‘Dexter’s Laboratory’ and ‘Samurai Jack.’ It made a total overhaul of $350 million at the global box office.
The movie received mixed reviews from critics, although the general public showed mainly positive responses. With a budget of $85 million, ‘Hotel Transylvania’ had set a new record for the highest-grossing opening weekend in September in box office history as it pulled in a whopping total of $358 million. The movie also bagged a nomination for a Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film.
With a script written by Sandler and Robert Smigel, ‘Hotel Transylvania 2’ has been set for a release on September 25, 2015.
Meanwhile, Sandler has recently come under fire for several accusations. Last month, Native Americans reportedly walked out of the set of his new Netflix comedy ‘The Ridiculous Six’ due to an offensive script.
Now, allegations of racism are further being emphasized after the makeup team has reportedly been darkening the skin of actors to make them look more Native American.
The comedy western is the latest project in which Sandler collaborates once more with Buscemi, whom he worked with in the two ‘Hotel Transylvania’ films.
