Sony launched on Wednesday the new Xperia C4 smartphones that sports a high-quality front camera for taking selfies.

The company's latest device comes with a dual SIM variant that features the same specifications as the main model, NDTV reported.

According to Sony, the Xperia C4 is packed with a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus features. For its 5-megapixel front camera, the company equipped it with a wide-angle lens and LED flash. Both cameras also have red-eye reduction features.

With these camera specs, users won't have to use a selfie stick to take a perfect group shot or capture the scenery behind them, according to NBC News.

Tony McNulty, the vice president of Sony Mobile communications said during the launch that the Xperia C4 was designed to provide users with a smartphone that is capable of taking high-quality shots.

"Xperia C4 caters to consumers that want a smartphone that not only takes great photos, but also packs a punch, the executive said according to the Sony Mobile blog.

"Benefitting from Sony's camera expertise, the 5MP front-facing camera with wide-angle lens lets you capture perfect selfies, while its quality display and performance features provide an all-round advanced smartphone experience," he added

The device, which is also being marketed as a phablet, comes with a 5.5-inch full HD IPS screen display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. It is powered by the octa-core 1.7GHz Cortex-A53 MediaTek MT6752 chipset and contains 2GB of RAM. For its video card, Sony went with the Mali-T760MP2.

Both variants of the Xperia C4 comes with 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded to 128GB through a microSD card. Out of the box, the device runs on the Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The Xperia C4 and its dual SIM counterpart is expected to go on sale in June of this year in selected markets. Sony, however, did not mention the specific regions where its latest smartphone will debut.
