Exciting things are lined up for The Big Bang Theory season 8 finale, with onscreen couples Leonard and Penny possibly getting hitched (finally!) and Sheldon and Amy sharing a steamy kiss (again, another finally!)
According to the Mirror UK, Leonard and Penny, played by Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting respectively, have fuelled marriage rumors after a recent clip showed them discussing an impromptu trip to Las Vegas, which isn't known as the Marriage Capital of the World for nothing.
"You know, Vegas isn't that far away," Penny said in the spoiler clip. And her genius fiancée excitedly answers, "Let's do it!"
After that scene, the two share a kiss.
Of course, the couple might be discussing something else entirely, but fans cannot help but hope that the lovable onscreen couple finally decides to cement their relationship by getting married.
Leonard has been pining over Penny since season one, and the two have gone through a series of fights and break-ups, only to get to where they are now. Leonard has also repeatedly asked for her hand in marriage, to no avail, until Penny comes to the realization that she wants to become the future Mrs. Hofstadter and proposes to Leonard. Of course, Leonard happily accepts it.
Meanwhile, offbeat genius couple Sheldon and Amy, played by Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik have taken things more slowly compared to Leonard and Penny, but it looks like the couple has gotten more affectionate than ever.
The spoiler clip shows the two sharing an intimate kiss, and much to everybody's surprise, Sheldon looked like he even enjoyed it, since he flashes a genuine smile to Amy after the kiss.
It looks like the season finale is shaping up to be one dramatic episode, but The Big Bang Theory is built on humor, and it definitely won't lose that albeit all the romantic scenes involved. In the end, as Leonard and Penny celebrate together on the sofa, Sheldon looks at them and says, "I'm really happy for the two of you, now get out of my spot!"
As for the rest of the gang, nothing was shown about Raj, Howard, and Bernadette. Howard and Bernadette have enjoyed a solid marriage thus far, and even the death of Howard's mother only strengthened their relationship. So now fans are wondering if his stepbrother will be making another appearance, and if it will affect their dynamic.
Raj, on the other hand, is also enjoying a steady relationship with his dermatologist girlfriend Emily, but will things move forward or will it end?
