Cult favorite American television show Dancing with the Stars gave audiences a shocking twist by eliminating two couples during the last episode, and now only four couples are left to claim the championship.
If there is one thing the show has proved to audiences, then that is the fact that no one is safe from elimination, according to Us Magazine.
Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson, who had consistently been in the bottom of the list, were finally eliminated. However, the dancing couple has outlasted many of the other contestants and surprised viewers by lasting as long as they did. "It was so great to be here at this show," said Shark Tank mogul Herjavec. "It was so much fun."
The other couple who were sadly eliminated were Chris Soules and Witney Carson. It was a heartbreaking elimination for the Midwest former Bachelor star since he was reduced to tears when he heard the news. But he was nonetheless grateful for having been a part of the show, calling the experience "life-changing." He added,"It's just been an incredible experience. I'm just thankful to have been part of it.
The other couples such as Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough are safe. The female Olympic gold medalist described her experience as "an amazing ride so far" and found that the challenges they faced in the competition, such as Hough's ankle injury, only strengthened their friendship.
Riker Lynch and Allison Holker are also safe, much to their relief. "I'm a little nervous," singer Lynch admitted before the eliminations. The look on his face when the announcement was made was really priceless since he really thought they might be going home this time around.
Before the announcements were made, contestants Rumer Willis and Valentin Chmerkovskiy were asked to perform their paso doble again, because it was the judges' favorite dance last night. Unsurprisingly, they were spared from elimination. "I feel like we kind of have figured out that going classical is our forte," Willis said. "So I hope that I can just keep improving on that."
Lastly, Noah Galloway and Sharna Burgess also received the happy news that they are indeed, safe. Before the elimination, Galloway said that he has no idea what will happen during the eliminations, but he still hoped for the best. Galloway even promised himself that if he made it to week five of dancing competition, then he will treat himself with a motorcycle, so it's time that the army vet take his pick of the bikes.
