It was a huge feat for the whole cast and crew of the Fast and Furious franchise to finish Furious 7 without Paul Walker, and now that they have successfully wrapped the film up, the next thought on everyone's minds was: What will be the next step?
Lead actor Vin Diesel who plays Dominic Torretto in the film has excitedly confirmed Furious 8, or F8, saying that the next installment of the film is from their good friend Walker, whereas Furious 7 was for him.
The plot of the eighth film remains a mystery at this point, but fans cannot help but wonder if Walker's on-screen wife Mia, played by Jordana Brewster, will still be a part of the next film.
When Furious 7 came to a close, Brian O'Conner and his wife Mia were seen playing on the beach with their son. Mia is pregnant with their daughter, and her brother Dominic decides it is time to say goodbye to them and leave the happy family in peace.
For her part Brewster said that she does not know which direction the franchise wants to go, and if she will still be included in the mix.
"We had a long break after Paul's death, and none of us knew if we were coming back, period," Brewster said in an interview with HuffPost Live. "I don't know if I'd do another fil], but it's always dependent on the fans. If they want one and if there's an appetite for it. We never want to jump the shark!"
She has been a part of the franchise in five of its seven films, and the whole Furious crew is like family to her. Brewster says they have Walker to thank for keeping everybody close and tightly knit.
"Paul kept us all very calm, down-to-earth and mellow," said Brewster. "He didn't care about Hollywood at all."
The eighth film, according to Diesel will be set in New York City. He also teased that Mr. Nobody (who is played by Kurt Russell) will play a bigger role in the Furious trilogy and that the gang will be taking on corrupt government officials this time around.
Eva Mendes' character, Agent Fuentes, might possibly be back too to help Torretto's team accomplish their mission.
Meanwhile, Furious 7 director James Wan will no longer be directing the upcoming installments, and Justin Lin will be taking on the task.
