Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's daughter Jill just gave birth to her first son Israel David Dillard, and now their other daughter Jessa is pregnant with her first child with husband Ben Seewald. So how does the Christian couple from the hit show 19 Kids and Counting feel about expanding their already large family with lots of grandchildren?
"It is such a joy!" Michelle gushed during an interview with The Morning Blend. "I am just so thankful to have all these grandbabies coming along, doubling the number of grandchildren this year. We've gone from three grandchildren to six."
Their first three grandchildren are Mackynzie, Michael, and Marcus, the kids of their eldest son Josh Duggar and his wife Anna. Israel David became the fourth grandkid, to be followed by Josh and Anna's fourth child, a daughter, then Jessa's child.
Both Michelle and Jim Bob have nothing but nice things to say about being grandparents. Before they became grandparents, people kept telling them just how wonderful the feeling is, but experiencing it firsthand is better.
"I've heard people say how wonderful it is to have those grandchildren. It is like ten times better than what they said," she said.
Now that the Duggar family is growing with grandkids, the couple said that "the multiplication process" has begun and they are really excited with what the future holds for their family.
Michelle even shared that every time their grandkids come to visit, it feels like they are having one big party because a lot of their own children are still young. She adds that there is no better feeling in the world than to see her own children and grandchildren playing together.
The Duggar mom (and now grandmom!) also addressed rumors that Jessa might be carrying twins, and confessed that she might have been the one who started it because of her excitement. She said that she and Jim Bob were just so happy when Jessa announced the good news that she said, "Who knows Jess, you may have twins!"
"Because in our family, twins kind of run in the maternal line and surely somewhere along the way one of the girls will possibly have twins," she explained.
Michelle and Jim Bob have no doubt that Jessa and Ben will make great parents. After giving birth to their first child, the young couple might even start adopting kids like they first planned to do.
