Woody Allen is at it again! Fans and followers of the quirky director and writer has quite an exciting project to look forward to enjoying as Allen unveils his newest film, titled Irrational Man, which not only promises viewers to experience the familiar manner that showcases the 79-year-old's artistry but also features some of the most remarkable stars in Hollywood today.

According to People, the movie will feature Emma Stone, Joaquin Phoenix, and Parker Posey. With the release of the first trailer for the film, it is apparent that the public could expect a mixture of drama and comedy as well as a tinge of philosophical and existential crises to be part of the entire storyline.

The story revolves around a philosophy professor named Abe, played by Phoenix, and his search for "meaning" in his life since he feels stuck with his typical day to day routine. He soon finds himself depressed and confused with his current and seeks to look for a way to get rid of his discontent and unhappiness.

"I can't write, I can't breathe, I couldn't remember the reason for living," Abe is heard saying in one of the scenes with Stone's character. Apart from this apparent restlessness and dissatisfaction with his life, the trailer also went on to reveal that the middle-aged philosophy professor also suffers from alcohol problems and sudden bouts of depression.

Meanwhile, Stone's character, a college student enrolled in the school where Abe teaches, found the professor's state interesting. While this remains to be speculation, the said character appears to have take it upon herself to help her teacher figure out the reason for his sadness and disgruntlement. "You suffer from despair," she tells Poenix's character in one of the scenes. This was met by a cheeky response from Abe who said, "How comforting that would be!" The two then embark on various trips and engage on numerous in an effort to get to the bottom of things.

Abe's outlook in life, however, gradually changed. From being grumpy and moody, he begins to exhibit radical behavior such as engaging in an "epic" intimate intercourse with Posey's character who describes his "performance" as "caveman-like." Taking cue from his constant contact with Stone's character, it could be deduced that the younger girl is the reason behind this change.

Irrational Man is set to hit the theatres on July 24, 2015.
