Mariah Carey, with her signature sultry voice and 90s appeal, recently released a lyric video of her newest single, titled Infinity, according to Vanity Fair.

While no comment had been issued since the song's release, fans and followers of the diva have been busy speculating on the inspiration behind the lyrics. Due to the single's message, which features a combination of heartbreak and "your loss, loser" attitude, a lot of listeners believe that this was released in part as a diss track against Carey's ex beau, Nick Cannon.

Should the lyrics be seriously scrutinized, however, it seems that the rumors might be spot on. Words like "Name hold weight like kilos / Boy you actin' so corny like Fritos / Wouldn't have none of that without me, though / Ain't none of my business, it's tea though / Outta ammo, gotta reload / If life was a game you're a free throw / It's nothing that you don't already know" and "How I say this? / Fact that you still exist / No disrespect / No second thought it truly, truly is / Truthfully I'm through with this / Why are we still doing this? / Answer the phone like, "Who is this?" / Take your head and knock some sense" appear to be directly criticizing and describing her post separation relationship with the X Factor host.

Meanwhile, the chorus, "Close the door, lose the key / Leave my heart on the mat for me / I was yours eternally / There's an end to infinity / To infinity," seem to strengthen the authenticity of the speculations since the singer practically spelled out that she is talking about her failed marriage.

Infinity is part of the new album Carey recently worked on with Epic Records, Columbia Records, and Sony Legacy, according to Billboard. Working with Epic Records reunited the singer with the company's CEO, Antonio "LA" Reid who also worked with her in 2000 when she launcher the album, The Emancipation of Mimi.

"I couldn't be more thrilled to be back together again with Mariah," stated Reid in an official announcement. "There is really no one who comes close to Mariah as both a songwriter and a singer, and as the world knows, her vocal range is legendary and truly incomparable," the executive shared.

Reid went on to say the Carey's "music is indelibly etched into our culture, and she's shattered so many chart records that she's now firmly entrenched in the history books. He then added, "With a fierce and loyal fan base that covers every corner of the globe, I have no doubt Mariah will do it again."
