To show just how tough the Apple Watch is, CNET conducted a kitchen-themed torture test on the Sport edition of Apple's wearable device.

In the test, the smartwatch faced off against various items that can be found inside the kitchen.

Sharon Profis started off the clip by dunking the Apple Watch inside a pot filled with water. Proving Apple's claims that the Apple Watch is water resistant, the device still functioned normally even after being submerged for around 10 minutes.

Then, Profis took a variety of items such as a cheese grater, a microplane and different knives and tried to scratch the screen of the device. Surprisingly, the Apple Watch survived going up against the utensils without a scratch on its display.

For the next part of the video, CNET tested the stain-resistance of the device's white band against a combination of colored food items such as wine, peanut butter, ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, maple syrup, and Nutella.

After a couple of minutes, Profis took the device out of the messy puddle of condiments, spread and wine and placed it under running water to clean it. The gunk on the device easily came off and still worked like new.

CNET then took the test a step further a placed the Apple Watch filled with boiling water. Although the device came out okay, it automatically rebooted and displayed a high-temperature warning.

The device was then dropped from various heights starting from the top of a standard kitchen counter. Profis also stepped on it a couple of times after dropping it. But like in the other tests, the smartwatch still worked normally.

The last test, however, finally destroyed the Apple Watch. The culprit, in this part of the test, was a 7-pound cast-iron skillet and after dropping it on the device, its screen shattered.

Although the watch was destroyed, it took quite an unusual beating before it was rendered completely unusable.
