Phil Miller is the only survivor of a deadly disease that wiped out Earth’s inhabitants. At least, he thought he was until the last woman Carol Pilbasian walked into his lonely existence. Phil and Carol assume the roles of Adam and Eve to re-populate the Earth until they slowly discover that they are not the only ones alive. Season 1 Episode 11 “Moved to Tampa” aired on FOX on Sunday, April 19, 2015.
When Phil thought he was the only man alive, he did all that he could to find other survivors. He drove his car all across the North American continent searching for people. He prayed to God and also began writing bold, colorful messages on billboards in hopes that someone would come find him. Yet, his quickly attitude changes when God answers his prayers.
In Ep. 11 “Moved to Tampa,” Erica and Gail are interested in Phil after Carol divorces him. Phil and Carol were married for a little over three weeks. Melissa and Todd have their share of marital woes when "Sweet Melissa" cannot bring herself to say, “I love you” to her new husband "Sweet Todd."
Phil returns to cross out his previous billboard messages that read, “Alive in Tucson.” Instead, he writes, “moved to Tampa” so that new people stop showing up in the community of survivors. Phil gets stuck until he is rescued by a new character, whose name is also Phil Miller. The new Phil Miller is tall, handsome, and helpful, a stark comparison to the old self-centered Phil Miller. The original Phil’s name is changed to “Tandy.” He is now one of seven survivors on Earth.
