With the excitement brought about by the release of the trailer for the upcoming film, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, fans and followers of the superheroes could not get enough of the speculations surfacing every now and then. Hence, it was completely understandable when everyone one anticipating the release of the film went on a frenzy when a set of pictures possibly showing clues on the plot was uploaded in Imgur by someone who goes by the username jbingles.
Screen Rant pointed out that the photos may have provided a major hint regarding the film's storyline as these featured glimpses of the Wayne Manor mausoleum. While others might have simply viewed the pictures as artistic shots of the set, it appears that some fans spotted clues. The report remarked that one of the gravestones pictured in the set had the name Richard John Grayson engraved on it. Grayson, as many avid Batman fans would know, is the first ever Robin who eventually became Nightwing.
Moreover, the mausoleum featured in the leaked pictures is the same one previously shown. The report described that the Wayne Manor shown has "a geographic label of Lake Orion, Michigan, a township some 40 miles north of Detroit, which was one of Batman V Superman's major shooting locations."
The inclusion of Grayson's gravestone in the shots once again sparked rumors and confusion among the fans of the comic book hero as the speculated timeline of Ben Affleck's Batman placed the character at roughly 50 years old. In a previous report, it was said that the producers and director might have foregone the leaner and younger version of Bruce Wayne and instead featured him to be more mature.
"My sources indicate that when BvS opens, Batman has existed for close to 30 years," revealed the report. This "would place Wayne in his 50s," the writer revealed, referring to the grey hair Affleck was seen sporting in the set. "In this version, Batman is still an urban legend, a creature of the night, and no one has ever taken his picture," it added. However, the source revealed that the 50-year-old Batman already experienced "plenty of adventures," which was possibly why "the Batcave includes a memorial centered around a tattered Robin costume."
With the revelation of Robin's inclusion in the plot, many believed that it was Jason Todd the spoiler referred to and definitely not Grayson since the latter already moved on to become a different hero altogether. This piece of information, no matter how trivial to the casual viewer, has received a lot of attention from the hardcore fans. As the release date of the film draws nearer, however, some expect that more details regarding the flick might surface.
Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice will be released on March 25, 2016.
