Ever since the news broke out involving Josiah Duggar's courtship with Marjorie Jackson, fans and followers of the popular television series, 19 Kids and Counting, have been keeping a close watch on the developments between the two as well as the reactions of their families. With the outright approval coming from both the Duggars and the Jacksons, it appears that the only thing left to do is to watch the couple fall in love.
In a recent report from The Examiner, Josiah's older brother, Josh, discussed with the former the value of "purposeful dating." Josh, who is already married to a lovely lady named Anna, shared with his younger brother the importance of drawing the line in terms of their courtship. As it is a well-known fact that courtship for their family automatically means romantic dates with chaperones and no kissing at any point of their relationship prior to marriage, Josh explained that it will ultimately be up to Josiah and Marjorie to control themselves from committing errors of judgment for the sake of their faith and beliefs.
"For Anna and I, we had 1000 miles between us, it made things a little easier," Josh revealed. As for Josiah, Marjorie lives roughly 10 miles away from their home. Hence, the younger Duggar might need a bit more of creativity to make their courtship memorable. "I think each person has a different structure," Josh shared, referring to the difference in their courting scenarios. "I had all my good looks on my side. I'm not sure what you've got," he teasingly added.
In an earlier interview with PEOPLE, Josiah disclosed that their courtship is "going very well." He went on to share that he met Marjorie a couple of years ago while taking Spanish lessons at her home. "I was very impressed with the way she was with her siblings and her love for the Lord," he shared, referring to his experience with Marjorie and her family.
As for Marjorie, she admitted that her attraction for Josiah came as an "immediate thing." She shared she met Josiah at Spanish class a few years back. "For me it was an immediate thing. I have always admired him and his family," she revealed.
Meanwhile, some people believe that the two are too young to even contemplate engaging in a serious romantic relationship. However, Jim Bob and wife Michelle feel otherwise. "We were married when she was 17 and I turned 19," shared the Duggar patriarch. "A lot of it is somebody's focus in life. They get to a maturity level where they can focus on their relationship with the Lord, the true joy in life comes from serving God and serving others," he elucidated.
