It's a given that all of the Avengers work really well together, but each superhero has such a strong background and history that standalone movies for each of them would definitely work.

Iron Man already has a couple behind his belt, and so do Thor, Captain America, and The Hulk (although not made by Marvel Cinematic Studios). That leaves Hawkeye and Black Widow, also known as Natasha Romanoff.

The actress who plays the character, Scarlett Johansson, recently talked to Collider about the possibility of having a standalone movie, saying that "there is room" for it.

She said her character has such a "rich origin story" so she would be able to tell a really compelling story on her own. The actress added that Romanoff has placed several layers of her personality one on top of another and now she can take it all down and reveal who she really is.

"Her dilemma that she faces it's a deeply personal one, she has this great, huge, epic kind of calling and now is suddenly going, 'Wait a minute. I have this epic calling, but I wanna make a choice for myself. I feel like I've put in the hours, I should be able to make active choices' and she inevitably chooses the heroic path and kind of puts her own personal desires and needs aside," said Johansson.

She added that those things definitely warrant a standalone film, since fans would love to see how the Black Widow gets pulled in many directions and what she decides to pursue later on.

Johansson has grown pretty attached to her character, and she believes that there's room for her character to grow. "I think I've been able to grow with the character, the character's been able to grow with me," she shared.

She and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige actually talked about Black Widow's standalone film, and they both really want for it to happen, given that the timing is right.

"I mean, of course, of course we've had that conversation before, and I think Kevin would also like to see a standalone film. I think I can speak for him and say that. That's all, really. Right now I think this character is used well in this part of the universe, but I think that Kevin-I mean, we've talked about it and we both share similar vision for what could be a standalone series," she said.
