'Hot Pursuit' is an action comedy film starring actresses Sofía Vergara and Reese Witherspoon. An underestimated female police officer and the ex-wife of an infamous drug lord team up in a hilarious attempt to uncover secrets and uproot a crime ring. Warner Bros releases the film on Friday, May 8, 2015.
Officer Cooper (Witherspoon) is assigned with a mission to protect Daniella (Vergara), a high-profile widower. Criminals and corrupt cops are after Daniella. Cooper wears disguises and goes undercover while Daniella uses her street smarts to outwit the thugs. The title of the film, ‘Hot Pursuit’ is derived from a circumstance under a 1967 United States law which allows the police to arrest suspected criminals without a warrant.
Vergara is a Colombian-American actress from the ABC hit series, ‘Modern Family.’ She won two Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Imagen Foundation Award, the NAACP Image Award, and the Glamour Award in her acting career. She is famous for her Colombian accent and bombshell appearance. Vergara is a thyroid-cancer survivor.
‘Legally Blonde’ star Witherspoon is a Golden Globe award-winning actress. She also produced the 2014 film ‘Gone Girl.’ She supports multiple non-profit organizations that provide children with education, health care and aide such as Save the Children and Children’s Defense Fund. Witherspoon is also chair of the Avon Foundation, which helps women with breast cancer and domestic violence.
