The all-female rebooted Ghostbusters will feature a stellar cast of comedians the likes of Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, and Cecily Strong and while each woman is a star on her own right, there will be one actress who will be shining just a little bit brighter than the rest since she will be portraying the leader of the group.

This is what director Paul Feig revealed in an interview with IGN. "It is an ensemble, but at the same time, you need the one person that brings you into the group. Melissa is sort of the leader of the group. But, everybody will be equal," he said.

McCarthy's character, who has not been given a name yet, will be sort of like the original Ghostbusters' Egon Spengler, who is played by Harold Ramis.

Feig will also direct the movie Spy, and McCarthy will also be assuming a leadership position there.

Earlier, sci-fi darling Sigourney Weaver expressed interest to cameo in the rebooted all-female Ghostbusters. She was part of the cast of the original film, and she played Dana Barrett, who also happened to be the love interest of Dr. Peter Venkman.

"I think that's awesome. I think it's great. I think it's going to be fantastic. I can't wait to see it," she said of Feig's Ghostbusters movie.

Weaver hoped that they would find some hilarious way to put her in the movie, and she even has a few "silly" suggestion in mind. She said that she could probably pop up as a marshmallow woman who is later destroyed by the Ghostbusters, or she can play an ancient librarian who goes out to make some noise.

Feig has also teased that his Ghostbusters movie will be just the right mix of fun and fear, since he took a lot of "gauntlet run" inspiration from the zombie television show The Walking Dead. However, he stressed that the movie will not go overboard with the gore and fear factor because it will still be something that families with small children can enjoy watching.

"The reason I do a lot of R-rated comedies is that you want a movie to feel honest," explained Feig. "But the Ghostbusters world doesn't need that level of swearing. We'll have to be PG-13 with this one. I would like to make it R-rated, but I won't. You want the biggest number of people to watch it and not be put off by it."
