Even filmmaking geniuses, such as Joss Whedon, can make mistakes, and the director is not afraid to admit it.
He earlier tweeted about a clip from Jurassic World featuring Bryce Dallas Howard's Claire Dearing and Chris Pratty's Owen Grady having a go at it after they went on a date. Dearing actually printed out an itinerary for their date while Grady was so casual about it that he appeared in board shorts.
Whedon could not resist commenting on the clip and wrote: "And I'm too busy wishing this clip wasn't 70's era sexist. She's a stiff, he's a life-force - really? Still?"
However, he now feels bad about his tweet, saying that it was done in "bad form."
"I shouldn't have tweeted it," he told Variety in an interview. "I don't ever say things about other people's work that are negative. That's bad form. It's not what a gentleman would do."
Whedon is a feminist and it clearly reflects on his works, which always feature strong and independent female characters such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dollhouse.
Still, Whedon has not deleted his tweet. It has received tons of comments, with some people who agreed with him while others bashed him for his comments.
One person wrote that the director just "choked on water" while some said that the scene was indeed "teeth-grinding," and the person thanked Whedon for pointing it out.
Meanwhile, some people simply did not care about his comments on Jurassic World, and instead praised him for his works. "You remain awesome, as always. Thank you. You're a breath of fresh air in what feels like an endless uphill battle," a fan commented.
For his part, Whedon said that it is not normal for him to criticize other people's works because it is very unprofessional, and said that he should have saved his comments for another venue and outlet.
"I forgot that I don't do that because I was frustrated. I felt like I was seeing something that was problematic," he explained. "What I said is pretty clear, but I think it was the wrong venue for me to be saying that. That's dinner party conversation."
Aside from those mentioned above, Whedon also worked on other television series such as Angel, Firefly, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. As for his big screen works, he handled Serenity, The Cabin in the Woods, The Avengers, and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
